Goals that focus on improving student achievement:

*To critically analyse all data gathering methods to ensure they remain relevant and which reflect current trends

*To establish teacher-driven ‘Annual Targets’ which continue to reflect the needs of the students and the School community

*Priority given to student achievement in Literacy & Numeracy

 *To fully meet our obligations to the MOE/SSS Literacy Contract 2009/10

*To focus more specifically on the academic achievement of Maori students 

*To prioritise out teaching & learning programmes to meet the individual needs of our students with Special Needs & Abilities

 

Goals for curriculum, support programmes and teacher development:

*To continue to be innovative leaders of tevhnology education including the installation of 36 Toshiba NB200 Notebooks & two trolleys 

*To continue to embed within the School a cohesive & sustainable learning culture in the areas of ‘student achievement, student/staff interaction, academic excellence and school pride’ and through the ‘Virtues'

*To actively promote a greater commitment within staff towards ‘The Arts’ , ICT, PE & Tikanga Maori

*To utilise ‘SMART Ideas’  & 'Easiteach' as SMART IWB teaching & learning tools 

*To actively encourage improvements in the presentation of the classroom environment  (publishing & display of students’ work)

*To continue to beautify the School environment and achieve the specific ‘Enviro Schools’ Awards through the active ‘Enviro Group’

*To fully embrace & implement KnowledgeNET (LMS) as a means to provide a superior level of reciprocal school/home communication, student achievement through learning reflections, e-learning, Journals, Inquiry etc.

*To meet our MOE obligations for the implementation of the National Standards from 2010

*To meet our MOE obligations to the implementation of the Revized NZ Curriculum from 2010

 

 

Goals for personnel, processes and systems (e.g. financial management):

* To continue to provide for a professional and collegial teaching & learning environment for all staff

*To provide on-going support for 'Professional Learning & Developement' as required-priorities given to ‘Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, PE & Tikanga Maori’. Priorities given to ‘The Arts’ ICT & current formative assessment practices/trends

*To aggressively source financial support from Trusts to enable the completion of designated projects (in addition to OG & 5YA/10YP MOE funding)

*To prioritise 'Self Review' as an essential component of Trusteeship in order to strategically monitor and enhance the performance and effectiveness of ALL Trustees and Management

*To evectively recruit & induct new Trustees (Triennial Elections 2010)

*To practise prudent and responsible financial management procedures as per Audit

*To develop www.broadlands.knowledge.net.nz as the preferred means of reciprocal communication and source of information between school/home

* To utilise our SMS 'e TAP' to its fullest capabilities

*To develop leadership opportunities ('Career Pathways') through strategic utilisation of MU's (as per Staffing Entitlement of 4 2010).  Priority given to ICT, Junior Lieteracy, SENCO, KnowledgeNET, Health & PE  and Tikanga Maori
